This laptop was brought in by a customer as it had no power which meant it was not turning on.

We tested everything and found out that the motherboard had a short in it. After a bit of trouble shooting with the meter and thermal camera we found the issue – one of the power MOSFETs was faulty.

This was now simple to fix as we knew what the problem was. This allowed us to find the part and replace it swiftly.

This was fixed at a fraction of the cost of a new machine and hours of setting it up again – a big success!
